Misting systems can be expensive for someone new to the hobby. Maybe you just want something to start yourself out with that's cheap and works? Well here is your solution. A pressure sprayer, a sprinkler solenoid valve, and timer, and also your misting heads and supply lines and fittings.

Here's what mine looks like.

Pressure Sprayer and Solenoid

The 2 wires from the solenoid go to the timer. I have it mounted under my stand.

Timer

The timer provides 4 rounds of misting through out the day. I have it set for 8am, 12noon, 5pm, and 8pm. Each time it sprays for 1 minute.

I use MistKing misting nozzels for my setup. You can get them through www.mistking.com or www.joshsfrogs.com.

Misting Nozzels

I found that I needed to use some tubing to extend my nozzels farther from the bulkhead to reach all of my plants.. I purchased a 1/4" "T" from Home Depot to create a dual nozzel setup. (You can see black electrical tape covering the white "T")

Misting Nozzels

Here you can see both sides of my 55 gallon dart frog vivarium have a misting head. This system works great. I fill it up every sunday and pump it up maybe 2 times a week. Simple to build and cheap!
