Species: "Pacman frog" (Ceratophrys ornata, Ceratophrys cornuta, and Ceratophrys cranwelli)

Location: South America.

Size: 4-8" (Like most frogs, males are smaller then females.)

Lifespan: 7-10 Years.

Tempature: 82 F (28 C) In the day and 78 F (25 C) at night.

Tank Size: 10-20 gallons.

Substrate: Cocofiber, nothing more. Wet papertowels are a good temp. substrate.

Lighting: UVB bulbs are not nessacary as long as the frogs food is supplemented with calium w/D3.

Diet: Crickets, earthworms, cockroaches, horned worms, and mice or chicks.

Important Notes: Pacman frogs are great beginner frogs. Easy to maintain, and will eat anything. As opposed to what some people believe Moss should not be kept in the terrarium with a pacman frog. It may provide moisture, but can also cause death to the frog if it becomes ingested. Cocofiber substrate should be used for a "bedding". For froglets or young frogs moist paper towels are a fine substrate. Heating for your pacman frog will either be by a heat producing bulb, or a "heat mat". Heat mats can be placed on the side, or the bottom of the terrarium. Keeping in mind that the mat does not get hot enough to burn your frogs stomach. Do not feed your pacman frog too many mice. Too much mammalian proteins can lead to liver problems down the road. A varied diet for your pacman frog will make it very happy..
